Finstad Votes Yes on American Relief Act, Supports Disaster Aid and Farm Bill Extension
December 20, 2024
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Brad Finstad (MN-01) voted in support of H.R. 10545, the American Relief Act, 2025, which extends government funding until March 14.
In a bipartisan vote, the House passed the American Relief Act, providing $100 billion in disaster assistance, $10 billion in economic assistance to farmers, and extending critical Farm Bill programs through September 30, 2025.
Congressman Finstad supported the legislation saying, “Congress has a fundamental obligation to fund the government. House Republicans have worked to restore regular order to the appropriations process, but regretfully, the Senate has yet to pass a single piece of funding legislation for FY25. I voted for today’s continuing resolution because it allows Congress to fulfill its obligation to ensure there is no disruption to essential government services, and also provides critical recovery resources for disaster victims and farmers.
"Additionally, this funding bill puts us on good footing to implement the conservative agenda that Americans overwhelmingly voted for in November. As we prepare for the 119th Congress, I will continue to work with my fellow House Republicans and President-elect Trump to enact meaningful spending reforms and get our fiscal policy back on track.”
