Dennison Water Infrastructure Improvement Project

Use of Funds and Justification:
The funding will be used to repair and replace the city’s drinking water distribution system, providing clean drinking water to residents and businesses. The City of Dennison is also currently noncompliant with the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH), who requires two wells.
The project is an appropriate use of taxpayer funds because the water system’s age and deterioration has led to increased risk of impacting the water quality and access. Moreover, the City of Dennison only has one well servicing the population. With no other water source available, if the well were to fail the entire town would be without water, which would severely impact the residents of Dennison.
