NEW ULM, MN – Congressman Brad Finstad (MN-01) hosted an open discussion in Fairmont to hear from southern Minnesota veterans and local organizations about improving veterans care services, sharing information on available resources, and strengthening partnerships between the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veteran Service Organizations (VSOs), nonprofits, and local communities. Minnesota State Representative Bjorn Olson also attended the discussion.
“I am honored to represent thousands of veterans across southern Minnesota and advocate for the care they deserve through my role in Congress,” said Rep. Finstad. “We have a responsibility to ensure our veterans can access both physical and mental health services, whether that be through the VA or through the critical community partners working to fill the gaps in care, which is why resources like the Bravo Zulu House – the nation’s only all-military, post-treatment sober home – are so critically important for our southern Minnesota veterans. Yesterday’s discussion gave me the opportunity to hear from the veterans and organizations on the front lines and gain deeper insight into what we can do to provide better support.”
