NEW ULM, MN – Today, Congressman Brad Finstad (MN-01), member of the House Agriculture Committee, hosted a roundtable discussion with the Minnesota Biofuels Association, Guardian Energy, and local farmers for a conversation on homegrown energy production and a tour of the Guardian Energy facility. Representatives from Minnesota Corn and Cole’s Electric were also in attendance.
With four locations across the Midwest, Guardian Energy is one of the largest ethanol production groups in the United States. Their Janesville location is currently undergoing a construction project to build one of the world’s largest grain bins, with a 2.3 million bushel capacity.
“As a fourth-generation corn and soybean farmer, I know firsthand the domestic opportunities E15 can create for producers and consumers,” said Rep. Finstad. “Seeing Guardian Energy’s facility and construction project is a reminder of just that. I was excited to bring together biofuel leaders, farmers, and advocates of homegrown energy to discuss how we can get both a Farm Bill and nationwide, year-round E15 across the finish line.”
