WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Brad Finstad (MN-01) released a statement following today’s passage of the Senate amendment to H.R. 6500, Continuing Appropriations and Extensions Act, 2027, legislation that extends government funding with a continuing resolution (CR) through December 11, 2026:
“Almost a year ago, we experienced a record-long government shutdown and over 40 days of uncertainty because Democrats chose to inflict chaos and disruption on Americans rather than keep the government open and operating,” said Rep. Finstad. “My House Republican colleagues and I have remained committed to responsibly funding the government and putting the American people above the political games to ensure our constituents have the essential government services they rely on. I was proud to vote yes and pass a clean CR, preventing another costly shutdown and funding the government through December 11. Now, I urge my Democrat colleagues in the House and Senate to work with us between now and December to pass the full-year appropriations bills that will fund the government through next September. The American people deserve certainty, and Congress should do its job and get this done.”
