WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Brad Finstad (MN-01), member of the House Armed Services Committee, released the following statement on final passage of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2026, known as the FY26 NDAA:

“This year’s NDAA delivers on key components of Peace through Strength by raising pay for servicemembers, making strong investments in the defense industrial base, and streamlining access to the latest capabilities for our military to meet the next generation of threats,” said Rep. Finstad. “I will always support our men and women in uniform, and I’m proud to vote yes on this critical defense legislation that ensures our servicemembers are well equipped, well prepared, and well taken care of.”

The FY26 NDAA is part of a generational investment in America’s national defense. This NDAA ensures the U.S. military remains the strongest in the world and builds the fighting force of the future by prioritizing innovation, lethality, and readiness. In addition, this historic legislation:

  • Codifies all or part of 15 executive orders issued by President Trump;
  • Ends left-wing ideology and DEI in the military;
  • Fundamentally reforms the DoD acquisition process, streamlining the delivery of new technologies;
  • Raises military pay by 3.8%;
  • Authorizes full funding for the Golden Dome;
  • Strengthens the defense industrial base by expanding domestic manufacturing jobs and supply chains;
  • Saves taxpayers over $20 billion, including from DOGE-initiated reforms; and,
  • Advances efforts to revitalize American shipbuilding.
