WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Brad Finstad (MN-01), member of the House Armed Services Committee, released a statement following the full committee markup of H.R. 8070the Servicemember Quality of Life Improvement Act and National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2025 (FY25):

“As a member of the House Armed Services Committee, I have been proud to work alongside my colleagues to produce a National Defense Authorization Act that prioritizes the needs of our servicemen and women and fulfills our commitment to the security of our nation,” said Rep. Finstad. “The Servicemember Quality of Life Improvement Act and National Defense Authorization Act not only delivers a strong defense budget that improves the well-being of our servicemembers, but also strengthens our defense industrial base to ensure that our military remains the best in the world. I am proud to support the Committee’s passage of this legislation, and I look forward to supporting it on the House Floor.”

“Our servicemembers are the foundation of our military – it’s vital that we ensure these brave men and women are being taken care of. Additionally, we must make sure that our defense industrial base is able to supply our warfighters with the capabilities they need to keep our nation safe,” said House Armed Services Committee Chairman Mike Rogers. “I thank Rep. Finstad for his continued dedication to improving the quality of life for our servicemembers and their families, as well as his work to revitalize our defense industrial base in the FY25 NDAA.”

Congressman Finstad led several innovative proposals in the Servicemember Quality of Life Improvement Act and National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2025, such as initiatives to include farmers in the framework of defense-based national security, programs to strengthen our industrial base and supply chain, and the removal of barriers to recruitment for the next generation of American servicemembers.
