WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Brad Finstad (MN-01) issued the following statement on President Biden’s budget for Fiscal Year 2024 (FY24). 

“The budget released by President Biden today is a clear demonstration that this administration is out of touch with the priorities of the American people,” said Rep. Finstad. “This budget proposal outlines trillions of dollars in new taxes at a time when families can barely keep up with rising costs and crippling inflation. Additionally, it increases non-defense spending at more than twice the rate of defense spending, delivering the wrong message to foreign adversaries about our national security priorities. 

“It’s long past time to get serious about our financial health in this country. Millions of taxpayer dollars go out the door every year because of wasteful government spending. We owe it to our children to leave our country in better financial shape than we found it, and President Biden’s budget takes us in the wrong direction. 

“We don’t need more taxes. We need less wasteful government spending, more commonsense spending controls, and greater fiscal responsibility.”
