Finstad Joins House Armed Services Chairman Rogers in Letter to DOD on Abortion Travel Policies
February 24, 2023
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Brad Finstad (MN-01) joined House Armed Services Committee Chairman Mike Rogers (AL-03) and 27 fellow Republican committee members in a letter to Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin regarding recently released pro-abortion travel policies. The letter raises concerns over these new DOD policies, specifically the direction of federal funds to be used for travel and transportation allowances for service members to obtain an abortion.
“The Department of Defense should not be using taxpayer dollars to promote abortions in our military,” said Rep. Finstad. “American taxpayers have a right to know why their hard-earned dollars are being used to fund abortion travel for service members, and the public deserves answers from Secretary Austin about the cost and legality of these policies, as well as their potential impact on our military readiness.”
