Finstad Votes to Protect the Right to Life
January 11, 2023
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Brad Finstad (MN-01) issued the following statement after today’s votes on two pro-life bills that passed the House of Representatives.
The House adopted H. Con. Res 3 and passed H.R. 26, the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, both of which Congressman Finstad is an original cosponsor.
H. Con. Res. 3, legislation which condemns the recent attacks on pro-life facilities, groups, and churches, was adopted by the House with Congressman Finstad’s support. “My wife Jackie and I helped start a pregnancy center in New Ulm because we believe all life is precious,” said Congressman Finstad. “Unfortunately, pro-life pregnancy centers nationwide have experienced violence, threats, and intimidation in the wake of the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade. These acts are reprehensible, and I stand with my colleagues who voted in support of this bill to condemn violence and intimidation against the pro-life community.”
Additionally, the House passed H.R. 26, the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act. “I have always said we must protect human life no matter how small,” said Congressman Finstad. “Saving the lives of newborn children should not be a partisan issue. It’s simple: babies who survive an abortion attempt deserve basic medical care. I will always support the sanctity of life and fight to protect the most vulnerable among us.”
