WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Brad Finstad (MN-01) led Minnesota’s Republican congressional delegation in sending a letter to Minnesota Secretary of State Steve Simon demanding transparency after it was confirmed that 20 ballots were likely illegally disposed of in Shakopee’s 10th precinct.

“As litigation continues in Minnesota State Court, it is critical that Minnesotans have the peace of mind that their voices were heard in the last election and every vote was counted,” said Rep. Finstad. “These missing ballots are extremely concerning, which is why my colleagues and I are urging Secretary Simon to clarify how the situation is being addressed and to assure voters that no other ballots have been illegally discarded in elections across Minnesota."

This letter comes after the delegation sent an initial letter to Secretary Simon demanding accountability from the Secretary of State’s office upon discovery of the missing ballots shortly after the election.
