WABASHA, MN – Congressman Brad Finstad (MN-01) announced that Gundersen St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Wabasha, MN was awarded more than $1.6 million in federal funding as part of a Community Project Funding request submitted by Congressman Finstad earlier this year. Yesterday, Congressman Finstad called Hospital Administrator Jim Root to notify him of the award.

The award provides $1,601,954 million to be used for the hospital’s primary care, rehabilitation, and retail pharmacy expansion project. The expansion will be between 15,000 – 18,000 square feet and offer physical therapy, occupational therapy, respiratory therapy, cardiac rehabilitation, and retail pharmacy services.

“Gundersen St. Elizabeth’s Hospital has led the way in reshaping our system from reactive ‘sick care’ to shifting the focus to meaningful, front-end measures that keep people healthy. Their innovative approach to reducing chronic disease and strengthening prevention efforts serves as a model for facilities across our region, state, and country,” said Rep. Finstad. “I was proud to secure this investment to improve patient care and modernize critical services, ensuring families – and future generations no matter their ZIP code – have reliable access to high-quality healthcare.”
