Finstad Joins Local Manufacturers for Roundtable in Faribault

ROCHESTER, MN – Congressman Brad Finstad (MN-01) joined National Association of Manufacturers President and CEO Jay Timmons at Faribault Woolen Mill Co. for a roundtable discussion with local manufacturers and a tour of the operation with Faribault Mill President and CEO Ross Widmoyer.

The discussion highlighted the many legislative wins in the Working Families Tax Cuts for Minnesota manufacturers, including No Tax on Overtime, and pro-growth provisions credited with saving over 100,000 jobs across the state. Attendees also discussed the importance of permitting reform for businesses across the country. Following the roundtable, Congressman Finstad toured the mill and received a firsthand look into their wool manufacturing process.

“From saving tens of thousands of jobs in Minnesota to creating economic opportunity for our neighbors, this discussion gave us the opportunity to highlight and celebrate the reality of the Working Families Tax Cuts for local manufacturers,” said Rep. Finstad. “I appreciated this opportunity to spend a morning at the historic Faribault Mill with local manufacturers and meet the employees and community members who are strengthening the industry. I’ll continue working in Congress to give our manufacturers the certainty and support they need to succeed for generations to come.”

“For generations, manufacturers like Faribault Woolen Mill Co. have been woven into the fabric of our communities, creating jobs, driving prosperity and strengthening our economy,” said National Association of Manufacturers President and CEO Jay Timmons. “Congressman Finstad has been a champion for manufacturers, helping deliver the most pro-growth, pro-manufacturing tax reforms in generations. We are grateful for his leadership and his commitment to advancing bipartisan permitting reform and getting it across the finish line. Outdated permitting laws cost manufacturers nearly $8 billion every year, holding back investment, job creation and innovation. Modernizing our permitting system will unleash the full potential of historic tax reform, bring more energy projects online, strengthen reliability and lower costs for manufacturers and families alike.”
