ROCHESTER, MN – Congressman Brad Finstad (MN-01) was joined by Acting Secretary of Labor Keith Sonderling in Rochester for a roundtable discussion with numerous workforce and labor leaders from across Minnesota’s First District. Hosted by the Rochester Area Chamber of Commerce, the discussion covered both successes and challenges of Minnesota’s industries and economy, while also highlighting the importance of collaboration between labor leaders, employers, policymakers, educators, and community organizations. Congressman Finstad also hosted Acting Secretary Sonderling for visits to the Mayo Clinic, Kerry, and McNeilus Steel.
“As a Member of Congress, I value important conversations like those that we had yesterday with the men and women on the front lines of our local workforce,” said Rep. Finstad. “This week’s roundtable with Acting Secretary Sonderling gave us the opportunity to hear from business leaders, educators, and healthcare professionals firsthand and discuss how we can continue to work together to meet current and future workforce needs, as well as strengthen our national economy. I appreciate Acting Secretary Sonderling taking the day to see what makes Minnesota’s First District one-of-a-kind.”
“Touring a steel company, learning about the future of hospital care, and getting a firsthand look at the food industry has given me invaluable insight into the challenges real Americans face and the successes they’re seeing under President Trump’s leadership,” said Acting Secretary Keith Sonderling. “I’m grateful to Congressman Finstad for inviting me to Minnesota’s First District. I look forward to letting these conversations shape policy discussions as this Administration continues to create an economy that puts American workers and industries first.”
